As previously reported, CHARON entered Finnvox Studios in Helsinki in February with producer Mikko Karmila to begin recording their new album, tentatively due in August. The first single will be released this spring. Read the group's studio diary at this location.
According to a posting on the group's web site, CHARON have composed 13 new songs which are being described as "versatile, more live-oriented and dark-toned than earlier CHARON material. There are many new elements in the music, just because of a new guitarist, and using a producer in a different studio setup."
Last April, CHARON named FOR MY PAIN… guitarist Lauri Tuohimaa the permanent replacement for Jasse Von Hast, who left the group in November 2003. The band's most recent album, "The Dying Daylights", was issued in 2003 through Spinefarm Records.
